USIA Grant for the Internet Class at the Fundamental Library
The Open Library Systems Center of
St.Petersburg State Technical University
recently received a grant No. IA-284-644-G from the United States
Information Agency. A ceremony of money donation will take place at the
University on October, 16, 1997.$10,000 will
go to the creation of the Internet class at the
Fundamental Library. This class will help to all students, professors and
University staff to get free access to Internet resources. We can consider
this award as high evaluation of University’s research activities and will
try to enhance the idea of open access to information. We believe that this
class will stimulate collaboration between St.Petersburg State Technical
University and foreign higher educational institutions as well as personal and
professional contacts.The St.Petersburg State Technical University and the
Fundamental Library highly appreciate this gift. Special thanks go to USIA
